BALLET: This class will explore the fundamental movement principles of ballet including posture, alignment, co-ordination, balance and flexibility following the ISTD examination syllabus. Ballet is the most important dance practice and is the core of all dance.
MODERN: Modern dance is a rhythmic dance style. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style also following the ISTD examintion syllabus- each class ends with a combination.
TAP: Tap has evolved as an American dance form, popularised throughout the world. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing tap shoes which have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals.
STREET DANCE: These classes teach the fundamentals of street dance movement. They are upbeat and high energy classes. Rhythm, isolation and quick footwork will all be incorporated. Students will learn to memorize choreography to current songs in the charts.
MUSICAL THEATRE: is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. We play a few drama games, focus on vocal exercises and breathing techniques and learn songs from Disney to Pop to songs from Musicals.
Princess School: is our brand new class offering a magical experience for little girls. Our professionally trained teachers will dress as a different Princess each week and sing, dance and play games with your children and teach them how to become a Princess. Your children too can dress as Princess' each week. The classes are already very popular!
ADULT JAZZ: A fun way of keeping fit and learning a new skill! The classes are for all ages and abilities and not taken too seriously however we all leave the room sweating. The class is broken down into sections- a warm up to start and a fitness circuit followed by technique travelling steps such as kicks, leaps and step ball changes and we finish with learning choreography that we build and work on for about 4-6 weeks. It is a great way to exercise, meet new people and have a bit of you time away from the business of work and Mum life!
